There are about as many opinions on the horn as there are people who played it.
I used one for an audition locally and loved the sound it had. Could play a light pp to your dramatic ff with ease. Had a solid range from bottom to top. Intonation was a bit quirky, but that my have also been partly me being use to another horn. The model I used was an older one, when it was still the Yamaha top BBb rotor. Try them out, Yamaha seem to have good and bad days at the factory when they make there tubas.
