There are several good shops in Berlin, one that specializes in brass only, the name escapes me, but they have a good ad in the Yellow pages under Musik. I have Mark Evans phone at home--tubist in the Deutsche Oper, an American citizen. He would no doubt be glad to talk to you. Dietrich Unkrodt--at the Komische Oper and a TUBA Board member speaks some English and live in the middle of town. 241-4823 is his phone number. Outside of Berlin you will have to dial area code (Vorwahl) 049, if from the US, 011 then 30 (Germany) 49 (Berlin) and his number. He is a good person to contact and very willing to be in touch with other tuba players. E mail me if you want Mark Evans number or any other Berlin info, I have lived there in the past.
