You may also want to consider a preamp module between the mike and the amplifier, such as the ones upright bass players use on their pick-ups. I use a fishman preamp with my fishman pickups on one of mu uprights. I also use the preamp with a schayler magnetic pickup on my full size upright. If you run your mike through an impedance adaptor (from high impedance to 1/4 inch plug, you can run through the fishman preamp that clips on to your belt. It has a bass, treble, and volume control. You gain a huge control of your sound quality and volume while boosting the signal power to the amplifier.
