I have read the other comments on this subject, and I can add one other method. You might try measuring the current 4th valve from the middle of the valve to the middle of the valve, in a loop. Then divide the length by 4. Add the divided amount of length to the total length of the 4th valve, and you will be close to the needed length of the 1/3 combination.
I agree with those who say start too long and cut down. this might give you a more concrete starting point to add to.
