That's pretty much the only way to make this situation work I think. I just didn't want to futz with the parts from two different arrangments in an attempt to cobble together yet another part using those two. It just made more sense to me to buy the original and use that. Besides, when comparing the two versions, performed exactly the way they were intended, I much prefer the original. I've always wanted to assemble a group of conical brass players to do it the way the composer originally scored it (2 cornets, Eb alto horn, euphonium, and tuba). I bet that setup works great for this piece!
