The 2nd symphony is in volume 11 of The Torcinsky series. See

http://www.somusic.com/low_brass.htm

I played it a little over a year ago and it was one of the greatest experiences I ever had, musically or otherwise.

A few ideas:

1. Get the recording by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra conducted by Simon Rattle. The recording is excellent and the Brass are recorded beatifully, especially in the 5th movement chorale.

2. There is a short solo passage near the end that is marked p that should be played F. This is indicated in Torchinsky's notes. I don't have the score in front of me but I can get the reheasal number.

3. There is a sequence of ff high bass clef Gs leading into a descending triplet scale. It requires you to go as far out to the edge as you can without losing the note, while breathing in such a way that the scale works as well. Work had on this and you will be rewarded in concert.
