When I was attending the local community college I had the oppurtunity to play test 2 of these Conns side by side. One was in good shape and was newer (although I don't know for sure, I suspect it was a Texas horn), the other was beat up and had gone through the wringer but was obviously a Indiana horn as it had the darker lacquer and was older. I had my choice of either of these horns or a brand spanking new Yamaha 641. I choose the older Indiana Conn. However, I would have chose the Yamaha over the Texas Conn. The Texas Conn was a dead sounding horn. It was substantially worse then the Indiana Conn.
