Corligliano has an extremely short part--only the last note. However the work is built on the Haydn Farewell symphony but with the theme in retrograde (hence Promenade) In Haydn the players gradually leave the stage, with Corigliano the players come on the stage in a precise order. I had a tubist (Deanna Swoboda) come on early, run around the orchestra and take her seat just in time to play the last note--as specified by the composer. The others have no tuba. So if this is the whole concert, you will literally have one note to play--but with a bit of stage action. As an orchestra conductor I found it a terrific piece, but if I had played tuba---not too challenging.
