Check out the website www.audiotechnica.com
Audio-Technica makes several very good clip-on mikes that are made for wind instruments; they can take very high sound pressure levels. I have worked with other musicians that use them on everything from trumpets and saxes to tubas.
The slickest setup I have ever seen with one of these was on a Conn 20J recording bass. The mike was mounted in the bell throat with a small patch of velcro. The amplified sound of the horn through the band's PA was better than with any stand-mounted mike I had ever heard. Plus, the velcro mounting dampened the "clunking" sound of the big Conn's valves.
