No water key in my loop. The only remarkable item is the raised area on which the factory has stamped "Patented July 12, 1910", and a pull ring at the bottom of the crook. For what it's worth, when I had the horn restored I had the tuning slide modified so the loop isn't used anymore. It's basically just a pigtail that sits there off to the side and does nothing, although I still could use it if I wanted a tuba pitched in D.
