I play a fairly small bore (.687) King BBb. It works very well for me and most people that play that horn think it is a good all around instrument. But you gotta find what your comfortable with and what your needs are. If I had my druthers, I'd druther maybe have a large bore horn for large groups and a smaller horn - such as an F for small ensembles. Like a lot of tuba players, I can only afford one horn to accomodate all my needs, and I'm happy with the choice I made.
