Hey, what can you guys tell me about this unit? I went through the AFSOM as a tubist on the Marine side in '91, and was pretty much oblivious to Navy goings-on. Now I've been out for a while, and hearing that there is an opening for Electric Bass there I'm considering going for it. It sounds like pretty good duty, but if anyone could share their experiences I'd love to hear them. Stuff like how much road time: weekly, monthly, yearly? Daily life: rehearsals, gigs, private practice, swabbing the decks? How is the musical scene in the Norfolk area? I want to play as much as I can, and maybe take (or give) private lessons.
