I'm a UK player specialising in lead-line jazz (playing non-stop 3 hour sets) and I urgently need to source two stands. I regularly have two instruments on stage with me: B&H Imperial EEb WITH bottom-bow knob & Conn 24J WITHOUT bottom-bow knob:
1) I need a stand to hold each horn vertically on the stage while not in use. There's never enough room to lay them down.
2) I need a stand to take the weight of the horn while in playing position. I've already got a "cup-stand" in which I put the bow-knob of my B&H.....BUT......it's only got a friction screw to hold it in a chosen position (ie no stem-holes) and it's always slipping down to the lowest position. I want something more reliable.
Please PLEASE can anyone help me source suitable stands?
