Out of curiousity, do you know what the differences between the #2 and the #3 are? I've used Conn #2's for many years on Conn 20K sousaphones and 2XJ series tubas, on which they were (and still are?) standard issue. I know (from the UMI tuba guy) that the #2 is essentially a Helleberg 7B cup design with a 1930's 'modern' streamlined exterior and a larger, more cushioned rim. What about the #1, which I once saw as a kid, but wasn't into mouthpieces enough to really look at the differences from the #2 I was playing.
