I have been going to auctions of all types since I was just a little shaver. It's really interesting to watch what happens to people in the heat of bidding. At farm auctions I've seen people spend >$30 for an eight pound sledge hammer with a broken handle! At a household estate auction I saw a lady up her own bid on a bedroom suite. These are both grown, logical adults. I agree with some of the other posts that people don't recognize some brands, which may be more valuable, and don't have very good self discipline. Oh, well! Kind of makes you wish you had a couple to sell, doesn't it?
