It would seem like this would be a unique opportunity to correct embouchures without losing any musical ground. The principles listed in the University of Saskatchewan's music education site seem sound, particularly where the tuba embouchure is contrasted with other brass embouchures.
You might want to reinforce their developing tone concepts by playing parts of recordings where such undisputed greats as Arnold Jacobs, Gene Pokorney, Warren Deck, and Floyd Cooley can be clearly heard in ensemble playing.
