Thank you for your informative response to my post. My Mirafone 1290 is a very different animal from the standard 186/188 rotary horn. It is a .770 bore 4 piston / 1 rotor 'American' style horn with a short leadpipe that goes right into the first valve. On most 4+1 horns, the rotor is a little larger than the pistons, to compensate for the difference in resistance. On my horn, it is the exact same bore size. I am considering having an .835 rotor and tubing put on instead, but that is a little too expensive for me right now. I find that the 5th valve seems to have a little more resistance to it than any of the pistons, including the fourth valve. I was just trying to find a way to make the resistance more equal.
