The process has been well exlained. You are forgetting that an experienced repairman can spot little things and just see to them during a chemical clean. When I wash out an individual's horn, I like to get my fingers into as many tubing and port openings as I can to check for solder blobs and left over gunk. Then I might tell the owner something like, "Your horn plays fine, but I felt a solder blob where the leadpipe goes into the horn. If you get a bad leadpipe dent in the future, tell me to take the leadpipe off to repair it and we'll fix two defects at the same time." That kind of attention is what you should be paying for. If the owner complains that it plays a little stuffy since day one, an experienced repairman can look for defects that might cause the problems. Anyone can remove a sparkplug from a car, but what does the carbon deposit tell you?
