Since some people are still hung up on the name change, I will just chime in with my happiness with it. I never liked the TUBA name. I found it obviously contrived to find words to make the acyronym "T.U.B.A." which I found to be a bit sophmoric. And whether you wish to call it "political correctness" or whatever, it still doesn't change the fact that the words "brotherhood" and "tubists" did not represent the vast number of women and euphonium members in the organization.
I was and am a very happy with the change of name.
Just wanted to give the other point of view in this argument. I certainly understand that some may feel there are other reasons why the name was changed, but these are mine for why I supported it.
