I have not played on one of these monsters, however, when I was working on my undergraduate degree at Ithaca College we had a GREAT tubist by the name of Rich Denton. He played one of these horns (he named it "Caesar") and he sounded GREAT!!! He auditioned for the US Coast Guard band on this horn and won. To my knowledge he is still with the US Coast Guard band, but I believe he now plays on a government issue horn.
