Bob Barr, one of the master band teachers and conductors of all time. He's a legend around the South because of his many years of work with band students at the Brevard Music Center and innumerable concert band clinics, along with his remarkable bands at Jordan Vocational High School and Glynn Academy (a public school in spite of its name). He had an uncanny ability to imporve bands by improving students musical listening skill and self-critical abilities even with just a few hours' work. He pushed students to stretch their capabilities and to go far beyond what they or anyone else thought they could do. And, of course, he was a great tuba player.
