Does anyone have any experience with getting their tuba checked with Delta Airlines?
I have a flight booked and know that I may have to pay an oversize baggage fee of $80, but just discovered that their website says that the largest oversize piece cannot exceed 80 inches (H+W+L), and my Eb tuba case is 93 inches.
Has anyone else been told that their tuba can't be checked? I'm headed for a performance, so no tuba, no play, and I'm not making enough money off the gig to get the tuba its own seat!
Any info will help.
