If there is a part of the horn that is too big, acoustically, then sleeving or adding anything to the bore AT THAT POINT will improve the response, because it makes it more acoustically correct. The concept of adding reflection points for the sound wave, although supportd by theory, goes against experience since ALL of the better instruments have LESS obstructions and a smoother bore throughout.
