Altho I don't really want to argue with Jake (the trip to visit him is one I'm not ready to take yet)....I think there is a difference in air flow for the same pitch on different instruments. Example: concert C below the bass clef. On tuba, when I play that note, I am moving it through a really big aperture. On horn, when I play that note, I am moving the air through a considerably smaller aperture, although it is still "big" compared to higher notes on the horn. Somebody gonna have to prove this to me before I'll believe it. Like, did Jake have an air flow meter between the mouthpiece and the instrument? Really, serious question from the WSTB.
