Pianos aren't tuned (at least not by "pro's") in "equal temperament".
Pianos are tuned with "stretched" 5ths, so the 5ths are at least virtually "beatless"...with an extreme high range that is quite sharp and an extreme low range that is somewhat flat.
The resulting sharp major thirds never bother me...I guess I'm either tone deaf or...
...accustomed to something resembling "equal temperament".
