I would never pretend to be as knowledgeable about physics as Rick. But I know that Temp. changes affect each instrument differently and to different degrees, which always makes going from a cooler warm-up room to a hot stage a bear because each player must LISTEN for their individual changes. Man is it a challenge to keep HS students listening all of the time, or what? Let's not even talk about the fact that tuning one pitch doesn't mean the rest are automatically intune. Some people never get over that. But I digress.
