Has anyone else notice the discrepancy between the tempo marking of Kassatti's By Gaslight and the speed Mead plays it on World of Euph Vol. 4? The indication on the score is quarter note = 80, but Mead plays it quite a bit slower than that. I am aware of the "poco rubato" noted at the beginning, but feel that this is a little beyond that. I should also note this piece was commissioned by Mead. I can already hear the "artistic interpretation" comments, but I figured I would throw this out there anyway. Being that I plan on performing this piece, any guidance is helpful.
