Meinl-Weston valves feel heav1er and less responsive than Mirafone valves but seem to be less fussy. The valves on the newer Mirafones (those with the metal mini-ball linkages) are about the lightest and fastest rotary valves I have ever played on. Meinl valves are good but require a heavier touch.

This sort of coincides with the horns as a whole. Meinl-Westons are of heavier construction, are more stable and produce darker sounds but are less responsive and agile than the Mirafone counterparts. At least that's been my experience.
