The reasons for the name change at UNT were given to me by the Director of Admissions back in 1988. So, I am confident in that part of my diatribe. And the cost thing was true back then too. I was not aware of the recent change in the tuition rules, however. But a recent hike in tuition still has nothing to do with the original question, which wondered why some schools choose to change names.
