Sorry to hear of the thefts.
A friend of mine owned a consignment store for used musical instruments. One day, a couple of folks brought in a couple of Sousaphones to sell...they had no idea of their worth. My friend excused himself to go "look up the prices", and went to the back where he called police. He kept them busy until the police came, and, sure enough, the horns had been stolen from a school in a nearby town. Happy ending!
