It is out on CD finally and I have been wearing out the copy since last night. This is the real deal, the mellophones, two bass trombones, screaming trumpets, TUBA,the whole enchilada.

*BE WARNED*

If you like your brass playing refined and homogenous, don't bother with this recording. If you like it in your face, loud, high, low, in tune and with a huge fist in the sound,GET THIS RECORDING. This is a chronicle of brass playing when it was an exciting, punchy, screaming wall of sound. I love it!!!!!!!!! It kicks ASS. Echos of an era that unfortunately has been lost.

Your tastes and mileage will definitely vary depending on your tolerance for something different. Think a real good Walnut Pesto, a little heavy on the garlic. Hot and tasty!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kudos to the long forgotten Clive Acker and Albert Polan on tuba. They sound incredible.

Chuck
