I will post mine as it has been recent, but remember it is only my perspective.

1. Very easy to play.

2. Big core to the sound.

3. Very agile for its size.

4. Worth the price for those looking for a big 4v rotory BBb.

I would have spent more time with this horn, but I was more fascinated by an extremely fine example of a MW2165 that Dillon's also had. As good as any 6/4 I've played, but that is another story.

If you're out there looking, I would suggest a trip to Dillon's. Not only do they have the Fafner, but they have Mirafone 186's, 187's, & 1291's, King 2341's, a MW25E (five valve version of the MW25 BBb) and other horns to compare it to. If you are looking for big this is just about as good as it gets on the new market. If you want all around versatility something a bit smaller might be better. I myself have enough of a BBb to deal with right now as it is.

As I mentioned on an earlier post, some of the big Cerveny's can be quite good as well. However, the Meinl Weston will be far more sturdy and dent resistant and have a better resale value, but that Fafner wasn't exactly a "light" horn either!

Call Matt Walters and he can help you out tremendously.
