----something I experienced. I took a Bb 4 rotary valved trombone in to have it cut to C. Repeated calls to repairman over period of three months produced nothing except, "I'm real busy." He then said it would be ready for pick-up on weekend. I arrived at shop and it's not ready. Three times this happens, including one time when he kept me waiting at the counter while he served other customers who came in after I did. Well, I finally got the trombone and the work was OK. My longstanding relationship with the repairman is not OK------I'll not use him in the future. The guy has a reputation as a great repairman, but is also known for his abrasive arrogance. Unfortunately, he's about the only competent repairman in this geographical area. I guess he realizes he's got a captive audience.
