I highly recommend Doug Tornquist. He is an amazing solois and simply put, a spectacular musician. He is not teaching at Cal state Long Beach at this time though. E mail me privately if you have any questions. Also, on monday nights at USC, tuba master class occurs. Every week a few students play solos, and the rest of the time is spent in a mock audition format. Hope this helps, good luck, and enjoy LA.
