Hi Ken,

I have a 1910 King Eb helicon that I had restored. Mine turned out real nice but it also has some serious intonation issues. I use have used mine for dixieland and tubaxmas but that is about the limit of it. I wish it had the 4th valve and played as well as my king Eb sousaphone. The sousaphone has the 4th valve and only a couple flat notes to deal with. I use a Doug Elliott "P" cup mp with shanks that he made to fit the strange size and taper of the receivers on both my older horns. You might go that route although it is a bit expensive. You would still need some type of measurement of the neck or get something different that might be closer to what it had originally and that might help you intonation as well.

Good luck
