PT-6 leadpipe

I noticed that most PT-6 (rotary, to be specific) have goldbrass leadpipes while some others have nickel-silver leadpipes. Could anyone explain what the differences are? perhaps the ones with nickel-silver leadpipes are the older PT-6's?
