The bell sizes are the same for the CC 186 and 188. The bell throat on the 186 is smaller in diameter. the 188 is definately larger in diameter and the bottom bow is bigger. The wraps coming from the tuning slide. The 188 is shorter on the tubing wrap and more rounded and wider than the 186. If you put these two side by side you would see it.
the 188 plays bigger and fuller. Good Luck..........
