I think the 4/4 front-action is a myth, although I've certainly been wrong about things before.
There was a front-action pic in the Taylor Music tabloid that was supposed to represent a 4/4 tuba, but I think it was "created" from a 3/4 pic.
I'll "quadruple" check today or tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure that the 980 is "it" as far as Weril 4/4 tubas are concerned.
