Greetings all
When I saw the specs on the new YEP842 euphonium from Yamaha I thought that it might be worth trying out the new lead pipe on my beloved 642. So I ordered it. Now I've got it and what I've learned is that it is a bit shorter than the 642 lead pipe. So my question goes:
What happens when I solder it on?
I can imagine that the pitch must go up a little. That can of course be corrected by pulling the main slide. But are there other "side effects" ? I haven't measured the exact difference in lenght but it could be almost half an inch to an inch shorter than the original lead pipe.
