FWIW,

I went the Orchestra route one year, and the Band my senior year. It was great. But I have to say I got more out of the Band side (even though I wanted/want to be an orchestral tubist)

Regardless of what you do, choose one soon, and focus on it. The idea that you should try out for more than one ensemble ON THE SAME DAY! is not your best plan. You should focus on one audition, and prepare and be able to play/sing the music backwards and forwards. Doing both means that one or both will suffer, and you will lessen your chances.

Texas All-State Bands are the best All State ensemble at TMEA (my opinion)

I don't know how AS choir works, but being able to say you are the best tubist in the state (that day, that hour) is a great feeling.

cdo
