I laid off the horn for around 24-25 years after selling my tuba a couple of years after college graduation. Instead, I've played electric bass in a little big band for over 25 years, and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I only played a few gigs on tuba as a pick-up player using borrowed horns during that time. I became inspired to start playing again late last year after watching a local community band concert. I borrowed horns, joined the band, and finally bought a CC BAT. I struggled with learning the fingerings, and finally became comfortable with CC recently. I just traded for a smaller MW 30 CC, and hope to spread out beyond the community band into shows, a brass band, and whatever else comes along. Music is just a hobby for me, but it's the best hobby there is.
