Chuck, I had a FH manufacturer who also makes great horn mouthpieces was wondering why heavyweight mouthpieces cost more when you don't have to cut them down as much. He said you start with the same block of brass, just shave the outside less and charge twice as much. Less wear on the cutters, also.
