To each his own, but I have had a different experience that I will share. I bought a Monette 94, which DOES add more resonance and depth to my sound, but it was not a purchase I jumped into unknowingly. I was playing on a conn Helleberg, and a Miraphone Rose Orchestra before that. My former teacher had been sent samples of all of Monette's tuba mouthpieces at the time. Since the 94 is based on the helleberg design I was able to compare the sound characteristics of each side by side. I immediately noticed a differenc, and so did everyone that listened to me. This assurance is what gave me the confidence to purchase the mouthpiece with a clear conscience. Thanks for listening!!!!!!!!!!
