You may be interested in an Ebay auction for the TRU-VU Video. They show brass players playing with a transparent mouthpiece, VERY up-close. Some segments show exactly what lip vibration looks like by using strobe-induced real-time 'slow motion'.
The auction site has a link to mpeg samples from the video, to give you an idea what's really there. Strobe samples for each brass instrument are also on the mpeg. Whether or not you purchase, you might be quite interested to see what the lips really do while playing.
