I enjoy the tuba playing on the LA Phil recording with Mehta tremendously, but I think the euphonium playing is irritating as hell. I didn't notice it so much on vinyl, but on cd it jumps out at me. There is a newer Royal Concertgebouw recording out that I think is pretty darn good, but I forget who is conducting
