I hope Matt Walters chimes in here. As I recall, he used to have one as his personal horn. I got a chance to play one for a couple hours and liked it quite a bit. The two horns I would call closest to it are the Alexander 163 and the old-style all rotary Meinl-Weston 2155. The Yamaha seemed to have a little less character to its sound than the other two but was a lot less work to play. It had most of the Alex intonation quirks but to a much lesser extent. I think you don't see many of them because rotary horns are a bit out of fashion and because it's not a cheap date compared to its competition.
