The pistons were probably originally manufactured as raw (meaning NOT plated over with pure nickel to add hardness and wear resistance) nickel-silver. Check their fit. If they are dark brown and/or pitted examine their fit very closely. If they have been remanufactured and nickel plated sometime in the past, still scrutinize them thoroughly.
