The Besson BBb leadpipe is in my opinion the really weak (read: narrow) point of that instrument, so it certainly can do nothing helpful for your much larger Conn 24J tuba.
I hope you did not thrash the original parts.
Or as the Conn 24J still is rather well known, some US repairman might come up with something usefull.
