A game face, sure. I'm not expecting to see silly grins on the faces of the musicians. You know that vacant look you see in the eyes of the last person who asked you "Would you like fries with that?" That's the look I saw on many of those faces. I saw what I was looking for from some: a fire in the eyes, a posture of alertness, a visual indication that there was something happening beyond the mere mechanical. I didn't see it in the faces, and I didn't hear it in the sound.

Now, this not specifically to Tony: is the musician's appearance a part of the performance in the same way that presentation is a part of a meal? Should the performer put on a little parsley even if he DOES find the music less than scintillating?
