At first glance, this seemed like a prime matchup for MTV's Celebrity Deathmatch. I could imagine the creative uses of tubas (and Gene's clarinet) in the ring.
Then again, many musicians don't even know who Gene Pokorny and Rex Martin are, never mind the MTV crowd; it wouldn't draw the ratings like Oprah vs. Sally vs. Geraldo.
